Great tips. I have to say that I am on of those control freaks and to lessen the chance of being exposed to the gluten monster, I usually host the family meals. The stress of planning and cooking is worth it to me when the other option is feeling horrible after eating a gluten ingredient..

Thanks, Danni! I definitely feel you on that. I love when I get the chance to host events in my apartment so I can control the food, New Year's is usually my holiday where I play host and make a ton of gluten-free snacks and apps!

Also we can share and show that gluten free food is also delicious and easy to make.

This is great! Had my first Friendsgiving gluten-free (which I find harder to keep safe than with my family) and I think asking to serve yourself first is a great idea!

Christina Heiser's avatar

Thanks, Jenny! I totally agree with it being harder with friends. Serving yourself first is a great way to avoid cross-contact for sure!

Sometimes, my family checks better for gluten than I do! My mom is why I discovered gravy had gluten! haha!
