10 Best Gluten-Free Brands I Tried at the 2025 Summer Fancy Food Show
From buttermilk biscuits to protein-packed cheesecake and beyond
One of the perks of being a health and food writer is getting to attend media events. I love learning about new companies in this space, and I’m always on the lookout for cool new gluten-free products to feature in this newsletter.
Last week, I attended the 2025 Summer Fancy Food Show at the Javits Center in New York City and got to connect with lots of gluten-free brands that were new to me (and a few familiar favorites too).
Ahead, I’m recapping the 10 best bites I sampled from under-the-radar or new-to-me brands. I’m highlighting five savory and five sweet products, but I didn’t even get to scratch the surface at this three-day event—so hopefully, I’ll be back next year for more!
Just a note: Not all of the following products are certified gluten-free or prepared in dedicated gluten-free facilities. Some products are also not available nationwide just yet.

10 best gluten-free brands from the 2025 Summer Fancy Food Show
1. TruCrumb
It’s rare to find gluten-free biscuits that actually taste good and aren’t a dry crumbly mess. Enter Austin, Texas-based TruCrumb, a line of gluten-free treats founded by Sabrina Zahn, who was diagnosed with celiac disease a few years ago.
Zahn decided to put a gluten-free spin on her favorite carb-rich foods, including buttermilk biscuits—and the result is light, puffy biscuits with delightfully fluffy layers. Zahn has also perfected gluten-free scones if you’re looking for something sweet.

2. SaladSprinkles
Not one but two of my favorite gluten-free products from this summer’s Fancy Food Show happen to be crouton alternatives. The first? SaladSprinkles, made from crispy puffed rice.
I think this is just a genius alternative to gluten-free croutons, which leave a lot to be desired when it comes to taste and texture.

3. Besto
I’m a big fan of pesto and often make my own—but sometimes I’m just too lazy to do that. I got served ads for Besto on Instagram and was instantly hooked by their marketing. I finally got to try the sauce last week and can confirm it’s great.
The cool thing about Besto is that it’s nut-free (in addition to gluten-free), so it’s an excellent option for anyone with nut allergies who wants to enjoy pesto. The brand was founded by Kaureen Randhawa, who’s had a lifelong nut allergy.

4. Sababa Foods
Shakshuka is one of those dishes I like ordering at brunch but haven’t attempted to make at home. That’s about to change ever since I tried the Saturday Sauce from Sababa Foods.
This Middle Eastern starter sauce can be used to whip up everything from Shakshuka to stews, soups, and marinades. It’s gluten-free, vegan, and seriously flavorful. It comes in both a mild and spicy version.

5. Eleni’s Kitchen
Founded by Eleni Woldeyes, Eleni’s Kitchen’s mission is to provide the most delicious and authentic Ethopian food products. Eleni sells a variety of Ethiopian sauces and spice mixes as well as packaged injera, which I’ve never seen before.
Injera is a fermented flatbread made from teff flour, which is naturally gluten-free. It has a unique spongy texture and is used to help scoop up stews and sauces.
Shop sauces and spices at eleniskitchen.com and check out the store locator to see where you can find the injera.
6. Bake Me Healthy
It was so nice catching up with Kimberle, the founder of Bake Me Healthy, a company making gluten-free, plant-based baking mixes. I noshed on the carrot cake (which I hadn’t tried before), and it was really yummy.
In addition to carrot cake, other options include dark chocolate fudgy brown, banana bread and muffin, and oatmeal pancake. Recently, the brand added prepackaged soft baked chocolate chip cookies to its lineup—and I’m obsessed.

7. Joyffles
Waffles are one of my go-to breakfasts—but not every gluten-free version of this food is created equally. I was excited to stop by the Joyffles booth to check out these oat-powered waffles (made with gluten-free oat flour and gluten-free oats).
I was impressed by the sweet and savory apple cinnamon waffle I tasted and can’t wait to get my hands on more. Other flavors include apple cranberry, banana chocolate chip, and banana walnut.

8. oso cacao
Oso cacao was founded by Rigoberto Flores, a classically trained chocolatier and pastry chef. His gourmet, small-batch chocolate was inspired by his upbringing in a Mexican-American family.
The elevated and unique flavors available in oso cacao’s lineup include mango with chili-lime, sweet potato and candied amaranth, and mole de pepita. The chocolates are made with naturally gluten-free ingredients, and all allergens are clearly listed on the product pages.

9. Pistakio
I’m a sucker for anything pistachio-flavored, so I knew I had to make my way over to the Pistakio booth at the Fancy Food Show. Pistakio is a pistachio spread celebrating Italian culture (where pistachios are incredibly popular in pastries and meals).
There are two can’t-stop-eating varieties: creamy and crunchy. The best part? Both pistachio spreads are made with gluten-free ingredients! (Note: This product does contain oats.)

10. Culiraw
I saw a lot of high-protein snacks at this summer’s Fancy Food Show, and one of the best I tried was the protein-packed cheesecake from Culiraw. This line of plant-based protein cheesecakes is gluten-free and sweetened with dates.
You’ll find high-quality ingredients like cashews, certified gluten-free oats, chickpeas, almond butter, and hemp protein powder in the cheesecakes. In addition to containing 11 grams of protein per serving, these cheesecakes also contain 7 grams of fiber. I liked that there was no chalky taste from the protein powder.
