There is so much information that comes down the pipeline through our social media platforms as click bait and is it really important to research and not take everything said to us as gospel. But of course who has the time to always do that. So thank you for taking the time to break this down. I did read the post by MAA and understandably there is some information that everyone agrees on and some that not everyone is going to agree with. But I do agree with MAA"s statement that "We are not insinuating that these manufacturers are in any way deliberately adding agrochemicals to their products. We believe that the gluten free manufacturers are challenged to find clean ingredients for their products because the US government allows so many harmful agrochemicals to be used and the farmers feel compelled to use them because they are heavily marketed to them." Unfortunately our food is not like it used to be and is causing health issues. I think that this is true with all food, not just gluten free, but processed, ultra processed or food you get from your local farm. Educating ourselves and knowing what is used in the growing process and in the ingredients of these foods, just helps us to be better consumers and in the long run overall healthier.
Yes, thanks for your insights! I agree the US could certainly do better with the ingredients used in processed foods, and it’s always a good idea to educate yourself on what’s in the food here so you can make informed decisions. It’s just a shame MAA uses fear-mongering techniques to prey on vulnerable communities, and they are making money off selling supplements. Thankfully, there are credible resources out there (but of course as you said it’s time-consuming to do the research and find them).
As a gluten free family with one member who is a Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma survivor all of the misinformation, fear mongering, and shady nonscience in this fiasco was really not in anyone’s interest- except of course MAA.
First paragraph - referred to as a pesticide.
Thanks for flagging! I have updated that portion of the text to note that glyphosate is specifically an herbicide. I appreciate you reading my post!
Great post and well thought out response to this fear-mongering reporting.
Thank you for reading!

It’s really scary how MAA preys on vulnerable communities to fear monger.
