Gluten-free cookbook discussion and signing
On Wednesday, January 14, one of my favorite gluten-free recipe creators and writers, Nicki Sizemore, will be celebrating the launch of her new gluten-free cookbook, Mind, Body, Spirit, Food, at Rizzoli Bookstore in New York City.
I’ll be there and can’t wait to meet Nicki IRL and get my cookbook signed! Reserve your spot here. You can also order a signed copy if you’re unable to attend in person.
Celiac happy hour
I’m hosting my first event of 2026 this Thursday, January 15, at the Guthrie Inn on the Upper East Side in New York City.
RSVP using the QR code above or using this link. Make new celiac friends and sip on delicious drinks—hope to see you there!
Gluten-free products I’m excited about
Cheez-It Gluten Free Snack Crackers
ICYMI, gluten-free Cheez-Its are here—but they’re flying off the shelves, making them difficult to get your hands on! I lucked out and was able to order two boxes from Target before they sold out the first time. (And I may or may not raffle off my extra box at my happy hour this week, if you needed another reason to join!)
I have to say, these taste pretty close to how I remember regular Cheez-its tasting—the perfect combo of cheesiness and saltiness!
My only complaint is that many of the crackers came broken. I’m not sure if that happened during shipping or if, like many gluten-free crackers I’ve tried before, there’s something about the lack of gluten that makes them more prone to breaking.
Chips Ahoy! Chewy Gluten-Free Cookies
My sister recently alerted me to the fact that Chips Ahoy! came out with a chewy gluten-free version. Naturally, I immediately went onto Amazon and ordered two boxes.
While these haven’t arrived yet, I much prefer a soft, chewy chocolate chip cookie over a crunchy one, so I have high hopes that I’ll like these.
Promise Gluten-Free Brioche Bread
I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about Promise Bread lately—but up until last week, I’d never seen it any stores near me. I just so happened to pop into a grocery store in my neighborhood for some other items last week and saw a display of various Promise gluten-free breads.
I picked up two loaves: gluten-free brioche bread and gluten-free multigrain. I’ve only tried the brioche so far, and I’m very impressed with it.
The bread actually tastes good untoasted (which is almost unheard of for gluten-free bread), it’s a normal size, and it doesn’t have holes in it!
